THURROCK MEP Tim Aker has reiterated his intention to donate his Councillor allowances to a charitable causes in the memory of Maggie O’Keeffe Ray, whose untimely death triggered the recent by-election in Aveley.
Tim Aker MEP said: “I’ve said all along that the Aveley by-election was one election me and my team wish we would never had.
“However, the people of Aveley put their trust in me and I have every intention of delivering for them in Maggie’s memory.
“As I promised, I won’t be taking my Councillor allowances and the money will be going to local charitable causes. These will be decided over the next few months.
“I’ve said all along that I am here to serve the residents of Aveley and Thurrock. I hope this small gesture will benefit our community the way that Maggie would have wanted. She loved this community and so do I.”
