IT SAYS something about the community spirit in Chadwell St Mary that once it was announced that tireless 80-year-old charity cyclist, Stanley Wall had his bicycle stolen, that the community pledged that it would not rest until it was found.

    And it has been found.

Stanley’s son, Rob Lay said; "I have great news about my Grand-dad’s stolen bike.

Thanks to social media including the Chadwell St Mary past and present group, the post was shared over a 1000 times.

"I received a message that a person had seen the bike. It ended up being stolen by a boy and taken down to Tilbury.

The bike was dropped off to me on Wednesday afternoon. It was missing a basket and had a flat back wheel apart from that it was ok.

"I would just like to add thank you to everyone that shared and commented on my post. What a great community we have on the Facebook group, Chadwell st Mary. They were even talking about raising money to buy him a new bike.
