    Old Priorians 10 v 14 Thurrock

THURROCK went to Ealing on Saturday and came away with a well-deserved win, to a side that have had two consecutive promotions and they started the game full of confidence and kept kicking for the corner turning down numerous penalty attempts in the opening 15 minutes.

Eventually they decided to kick at goal and McIntosh made no mistake, however within two minutes Thurrock drew level when Hagen Mumba slotted over his first penalty attempt.

The game stuttered mainly in the middle of the park but the try line was crossed on the half hour mark when the home scored through Allum, and McIntosh then added the conversion. But the trusty boot of Mumba added a penalty just before the break to turn around 10-6 down.

Thurrock dominated the second half but failed to put points on the board, Mumba was the man to break the trend as was on hand to crash over after some good build up play, he was wide with the conversion, but now for the first time Thurrock were in the lead.

Thurrock continued to apply the pressure but were let down by either the final pass or some strange refereeing decisions, the forwards with another new player Kealan Henry kept up to their task and the Thurrock defence did not allow the home side into the game. However the nerves started to show as the clock continued to tick leading by 11-10 a home side penalty could easily snatch the game away from Thurrock but with 4 minutes into injury time man of the match Mumba added his third penalty and Thurrock closed out the final couple of minutes to earn victory.

The manner of the performance augers well for the long road ahead has Thurrock settle back to life in London 1

This week another away game as Thurrock travel to Romford & Gidea Park, kick off will be 3pm
