THURROCK commuters have reacted with anger to the new C2C rail timetable that went live on Monday (Dec 14th) morning.
Many commuters, who are paying in the region of £3,000 plus a year to travel, have gone onto social media to reflect their frustrations:
@TheSonny25: "The 649 Stanford le hope service… Arguments ensuing at Dagenham dock because of how packed it is… And the heating is on!!
@LivCornwell: "How is this helping anyone? People already standing at Stanford-le-hope this is ridiculous."
@Fares_fair: "Stanford-le-Hope station is busier than Fenchurch Street in the evening peak now! Queue at each door now 4/5 deep for 0710hrs Dep".
@Charlotte_Sams: "From chafford hundred to fenchurch street. It’s an absolute joke we need 8 carriage
@kbutcher1981: "7.31 from Grays, people standing at Chafford Hundred. Insufficient seats due to the Metro train design!
Another commuter gave a more detailed response.
She said: " I used to get either the 6.56am or the 7.09am from Tilbury: Both trains were eight carriages and both very busy with standing room only after Rainham.
"C2C have cut the 7.09 and made the 6.56 to 6.58. I got on the 6.58 this morning which is now not only a 4 carriage train but a metro train so even fewer seats.
"By the time the train left Tilbury it was standing room only and this is the quiet time of year. I pay over £2300 a year for a season ticket and by the looks of this I will not even get a seat.
"It is always the loop line that gets the raw end of the deal".
However, there were a number of positive comments
@MichelleS666: "Glad the 7.26 from Ockendon had plenty of seats and stopped at Limehouse. My journey to work much better than last 5 years."
@Frankenmorris: "8.05 from chafford was a dream this morning. Half empty at the front, with ockendon ppl even getting seated".
What do you think. Is there any commuter out there who thinks the new changes are a good idea?
