A GRAYS teenager remains in police custody after a mass brawl in Tilbury left a man with a serious head injury.
Police were called to a disturbance on Dock Road, Tilbury at 0040 hrs on January 1st.
A 26-year-old male was found at the scene with a serious facial injury in a fractured eye socket.
He was transferred to Basildon Hospital for treatment.
A 19-year-old from Grays was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm.
He remains in police custody.
