RESIDENTS are being asked to take part in a ‘Community Clean Up’ day taking place at Corringham Town park on Saturday 28th February between 11am – 1pm.

Annette Lewis, Community worker for ngage said “A local resident contacted ngage for help with organising a litter pick.

"This is a great opportunity for people to get involved and help make a difference. People will have a great time taking part in the fun litter picking scavenger hunt and there are free refreshments available”.

Timebank members are also being encouraged to get involved in the clean-up day as they will be able to receive time credits for taking part.

Timebank Thurrock is a new project where people can offer help to other people and choose help they’d like in return. For every hour, equivalent to one time credit, someone ‘deposits’ in a Time bank, they can ‘withdraw’ the equivalent time back in support when they need it.

Each person decides what they can offer and everyone’s time is equal.

Anyone interested in taking part in the clean-up should meet at Corringham Baptist church, Spring Road at 10.45am.

If you would like to find out more about the time bank project visit www.timebankthurrock.org.uk, or call ngage on 01375 389893 for more information.
