THURROCK MEP and councillor Tim Aker has claimed recent comments from MP Jackie Doyle-Price have shown that she wants illegal immigrants to be allowed to stay in Thurrock.

Jackie Doyle-Price took to Twitter to comment on Tim Aker’s call for illegal immigrants found in Thurrock to be deported.

Tim Aker MEP said: “I find it incredibly worrying that Thurrock’s Tory MP appears to support illegal immigrants being allowed to come and go in Thurrock as they please.

“Thurrock people have had enough of illegal immigrants who haven’t gone through the legal route as many hard-working migrants have done. Illegal immigration harms genuine migrants the most, those that contribute to our society, follow the rules and obey the law.

“UKIP supports tough but firm immigration. If people don’t want to go through the correct channels, they aren’t welcome.

“If lives are in danger, the UN Convention is quite clear: people should flee to the first safe place. That isn’t Britain. It isn’t Thurrock.

“I imagine residents will be annoyed but not surprised that Thurrock’s Tory MP has such a soft stance supporting mass immigration into Britain. She is badly out of touch.

“When it comes to immigration only UKIP wants an Australian-style system: Labour and the Tories both support open door immigration and illegal immigrants being allowed to stay in Thurrock.”

The MEPs; comments came after 26 illegal immigrants were discovered by the Police and Border Agency last week.

On Monday he said: “We have been a soft touch for far too long. Enough is enough. Illegal migrants must be deported immediately.

“People in Thurrock have had enough of illegal immigration just as they have with open door EU immigration.

“I also hope that the illegal migrants discovered at Tilbury Dock some months back have been deported, though sadly I doubt this and will be doing more work to find out exactly where they have been placed.”

Among the comments made on Ms Doyle Price’s twitter account were:

"Deport those who flout the law. But keep doing our bit for refugees.

"We should be humane to refugees."
