No Thurrock libraries to close (but you may want to read the small print)

    THE LEADER of Thurrock Council has confirmed that there will not be any closures to Thurrock libraries infact they will be opening a new one in Purfleet.

    Council leader, John Kent was responding to a number of petitions across the borough as well as a consultation with the public by Thurrock Council.

    Councillor John Kent did stress however, that "libraries have to change".

    After a brief history lesson, cllr Kent outlined the changes that would be made, including a small development in the housing office in Purfleet.

    Cllr Kent stressed that they would be looking at innovative ways of running libraries.

    But his final message was that there "will be changes to the library service"

    The subject of jobs was not broached during the whole discussion.
