THERE WAS a weekend of celebrations across Thurrock to mark seventy years since Victory in Europe Day.
From Coalhouse Fort to Purfleet, people stopped to mark the defeat of Nazism and their allies.
The good people of Seabrooke Rise had a good old fashioned party in the Community House.
There were a number of events at Coalhouse Fort including the lighting of a beacon.
Corringham Town Centre was also busy over the weekend where the traders organised an event to mark VE Day and really got the community involved.
