    Thames Chase is celebrating 25 successful years of building the Community Forest.

    During this period over a million woodland trees have been planted increasing woodland by 70%, 800hectares of non woodland habitats have been created or restored and 41km of hedgerows have been planted. Throughout June a series of special celebratory events are planned.

    Friday 12th June 3-5pm 25th Anniversary Cream Tea

    Join Thames Chase volunteers as they start to celebrate 25 years of the Community

    Forest by enjoying a cream tea in the 17th century threshing barn. Listen to musicians playing traditional music and maybe join in with the choir singing well known songs. The tea will end with fresh strawberries and cream. £8.00 per person. Gift vouchers available. Booking essential at the Visitor Centre or reservations on 01708 642970. Payment can be taken over the phone. There will be a memory booth in the Visitor Centre for your special memories of Thames Chase .

    Saturday 13th June from 12 noon Beating the bounds of Broadfields

    Join a guided walk around the Thames Chase Community Forest demonstration site that was Broadfields Farm. It is now home to the Forest Centre. As you walk along the all weather paths, the development of this once derelict farm into a forest landscape will be outlined as the model for the Community Forest. Learn about the various stages of planting and woodland management and about the history of the Forest. The walk is 3 Km.

    Sunday 14th June 25th Anniversary 10k & Fun Run

    We are holding a 10 Km Fun Run in partnership with Havering90 Joggers. The Thames Chase Family Fun Run has always been a hit event, so make sure to book as early as possible! Information and booking from the Forest Centre. To take part in the 10K run call us on 01708 642970. Starts at 10 am.

    There will be a Family Fun Run of 800 metres starting at 2 pm, application forms from our website at http://www.thameschase.org.uk/.

    Dog walkers and those with young children are advised not to visit the Forest Centre on this Sunday.

    Saturday 20th June 2-6pm The Forest at Play

    Come and help the Thames Chase Trust celebrate 25 year of the Community Forest at a family fun afternoon at the Forest Centre in Pike Lane, Cranham. Lots of family fun games ending with a picnic on the meadow listening to the Brentwood School Big Band. Bring your garden chairs and blankets along with a picnic.
