IT SHOULD have been an idyllic summer scene as dozens of young sports men and women participated in a number of sports on Blackshots Field in Grays.
But a large number of yobs on Quad bikes decided to spoil the occasion for them and the marauded around the fields and now there are fears that many young people will not return to the area again.
An Essex Police spokesperson said:
Police were called at around 4.20pm yesterday (Thursday June 11) to reports that a number of people were driving off-road or quad bikes on Blackshots field, Grays.
Officers attended, but the bikers had left before they arrived.
Police attended the scene again at around 7.20pm following a call to say that the bikers had returned. The bikers left as officers arrived and enquiries are continuing.
