NGAGE – the Community Organisation and Volunteer Centre for Thurrock – offers a regular monthly drop in volunteer centre service, and can provide support to local people and organisations to help them access volunteering opportunities in the local area and across Thurrock and help them find suitable volunteering roles.
The drop-ins take place at the following community hub facilities:
South Ockendon Centre, Derry Avenue 10am-12pm on the first Tuesday of the month
Acorn Community Hub, Headon Hall, Stifford Clays 10am -12pm on the first Wednesday of the month
Chadwell St Mary Centre/Library, Brentwood Road 10am – 12pm on the first Thursday of the month
Laura Hudson, volunteer coordinator said “The next drop-ins are taking place on the 1st, 7th and 8th October. Volunteering can help people in so many ways including building confidence, gaining new skills, meeting new people, improving employment prospects and much more. We hope to see more people using the VC Local drop-in service and we are keen to talk about Timebanking and ideas for local volunteering projects”.
“We would also like to hear from more local organisations who can let us know about any opportunities they may have to use volunteers and also local businesses who may want to support local projects in the area”.
