IF Aveley are to be promoted this year then they may look to games like this as the key to any success.
The Millermen opened the scoring in the 22nd minute through Abayomi Seymour but then Witham fought back through goals by Scott Kemp (65′) and Tim Monsheju (75′)
But Aveley grabbed the pint with a goal by Daniel McCullock (86′).
The result leaves Aveley in third place, five points off the top (with a game in hand).
They return to action on Tuesday night with a great local derby at Thurrock.
