ESSEX Firefighters were called to a flat fire in Nursery Road, Stanford Le Hope.
Crews administered first aid to a woman suffering with smoke inhalation.
Firefighters had extinguished the fire by 14:16hrs.
An investigation will now be carried out by the fire service to establish the cause of the fire.
