THURROCK LABOUR LEADER John Kent has reiterated his call for the Leader of Thurrock Council Terry Hipsey to stand down.
In this interview, Cllr Kent answers Cllr Hipsey’s criticisms of the Labour Group over past performances, economic record and the Corringham Traders Meeting “set up”.
Cllr Kent’s comments come as another Interim Chief Executive has QUIT from his post.
Former Chief Executive of Southwark, Bob Coomber has taken over from Mike Rowan who has left citing “family developments”.
The Labour Group are gathering their troops for the showdown next Wednesday at Full Council (7pm Civic Offices, New Road, Grays).
It’s clear that all 22 Labour Councillors will be attending. The question will be: Will all 24 Tories turn up?
YourThurrock understands that all 24 Tory Councillors were invited by Cllr Hipsey to his press conference on Tuesday night but not all turned up.
There may be some serious whipping to be done but the Tories have a knack of unifying at the key moments that has frustrated Labour greatly.
