Over 21 Palmer’s sports students received sports awards during a prestigious Sports Awards Evening held at Orsett Hall yesterday.
The College held its very own Sports Awards Evening this year which was attended by over 50 of it sports students, sponsors and teaching staff.
Mark Vinall, Principal and presenter of the evening said: “There is a wealth of sporting talent at Palmer’s College and this inaugural Sports Award Evening was a wonderful start to what I hope will be a prestigious annual event.”
The awards consisted of Players Player, Coaches Player and Most Improved Player sponsored by Southend United Community and Educational Trust, YourThurrock.com and Hailstone Travel. Other supporting sponsors included: Classic Dry Cleaners, Saracens Rugby, Tangerine UK, Mr Roger Day and Orsett Hall.
Heather Day, organiser of the event and teacher at Palmer’s College said: “The evening was a great success; it was fantastic to see so much sporting talent at the College being recognised. I would like to thank all the student’s for their commitment and sporting achievements this year, their efforts and behaviour have been commendable to themselves and the College.”
The evening involved a meal, award ceremony and disco and enjoyed by students, sponsors and teaching staff.
