Thurrock Courts Players performance of White Lies appeared for three nights at the Thameside Theatre.
A delightful light comedy which brought out the best in their cast and so a credit to the directorial skills of John Scowen.
Once again Jill Snelling is the fulcrum for a Courts Players performance as the truly horrid Bea who is one of four middle aged women meeting up for a re-union after many years. Jill is well served by Pauline Crowhurst, Karen Reeves and Tracy Carsberg.
Each women is able to capture a particular corner of regret over their years but the actors keep the comedy running. This reviewer especially liked the Airplane-like corny humour especially the “alley” joke.
Anne-Marie Bates also produces a fine cameo as a waitress with a fine line in insulting Bea.
