Y’know, The Thurrock Drama Festival is a hidden treasure. You would have to say that someone needs to give Director John Scowen a hand to give the Festival more of a boost.
Meanwhile, this play started off slowly and seemed a confused jumble of cod-shakespeare and youth club gangsta-chat dancing to music from 1982 but then it slowly started to come alive and you realised that this was indeed a clever piece with some fine individual acting performances including Ben Smerdon as Dex who should be in line for an award.
Ambitious but accessible. The play asked questions but entertained at the same time. Well done.
