The Betting Inquiry surrounding the Grays Ath v Forest Green Rovers was the subject of a special report on Radio 4 tonight (Thursday).
As previously reported, betting organisations reported “highly unusual” betting patterns in the days leading up to the game.
Blue Square Spokesman said: “Bets were concentrated in Grays being 1-0 down at half time by a penalty and coming back to win by a goal at half time.”
Had bets been paid out as predicted, betting organisations claim that they would have paid out the same amount on one game as four months of Blue Square Premier matches.
Mr Alger pointed to further anomalies. According to Mr Alger the game was the subject of discussion at several training grounds making particular reference to Grays conceding a penalty at half time.
The FA are continuing to investigate the whole circumstances surrounding the game.
