EAST THURROCK MP Angela Smith has returned over a thousand pounds that she wrongly claimed on her parliamentary expenses.
The newly-promoted Minister for the Third Sector returned £1,033 for “Council Tax and service charges overclaim.”
Mrs Smith spent £10,774 on mortgage interest for her two-bedroom Elephant and Castle flat, which is designated as her second home, from 2004 to 2008 – an average of £224 a month.
