Leader of the Labour Group, Cllr John Kent described Andrew Mackinlay as “a man committed to the people of Thurrock every single hour as an MP.”
Since Andrew Mackinlay announced that he would be standing down at the next election last friday, there have been mixed emotions.
Some are relieved that he is putting his health and family first. Others feel that seventeen years in parliament is (relatively speaking) not that long and hoped that Andrew could have gone on for another decade.
