THERE may be a recession but generous members of the public still managed to raise over £3,500 for a South Ockendon based Greyhound trust.
Greyhoundhomer is based out on the Ockendon Road. It is a branch of the Retired Greyhound Trust which homes retired greyhounds at the end of their racing careers,
Charity organiser said: “We never expected this much. We are very grateful to everyone.
“This money will pay for kennels and food for the hungry greyhounds.
“We still need new homes for our greyhounds. They make fantastic pets. They are extremely placid animals and therefore are particularly good with children.
“They also make excellent companions for the elderly because they are loving animals who do not require large amounts of exercise.
