As you are well aware we at yourthurrock like our music and hot on the heels of the Thurrock Festival we went to see how neighbouring Havering faired as they expanded their normal jazz and folk tea garden event into a large stage big PA event at this years Havering Show.
On hand over the two day event were bands such as Bay City Rollers and Manfred Mann.
I think this event will grow in size and will attract larger bands in future. Like Tfest entry was free and there’s a fine balance between charging admission and funding large acts .
It depends what you want and both councils will have to think carefully how future events are funded
