Ryan Cassar Appeal

THE TRAGIC death of 12-year-old Ryan Cassar is etched on the memory of all Thurrock residents.

Not a day goes by when you don’t see flowers by the side of Elizabeth Road where he was struck by a car in January 2006.

Ryan sustained a severe head injury and died in Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital.

Since then, his parents, Lynn and John Cassar have campaigned tirelessly to raise money for the hospital and so far have raised over £200,000.

The fundraising goes on and a charity ball will be held in Bulphan The black tie event is being held at Ye Olde Plough House, on Brentwood Road, on Saturday October 24

The family are now hoping to raise another £446,000 to buy the hospital a Paediatric Intensive Care Unit beams.

The ball will feature an auction, raffle, comedian and a disco.

The doors will open from 6.30pm until 12am.
