FIRST THINGS first. May we first have a shout out for council officer Sue Bloss, who, week in week out, does sterling work as part of the Be Smart team. Sue is a modest woman but is the borough’s greatest asset when trying to preach the green and clean message.
A fine example is the railway bridge at Tamarisk Road, South Ockendon. A blight on the landscape due to the amount of scrawled and obscene graffiti, it has been transformed by a hard working group of young people.
