STEPHEN METCALFE, prospective Conservative MP for South Basildon & East Thurrock has condemned the Labour Government for it cynical use of the last Queens speech before the General Election for pure politicking.
Stephen said: “The speech delivered by her Majesty, but written by Gordon Brown is all about the Labour Party saving itself, not serving the country. Mr Brown has nothing to offer except a series of half-measures aimed at partisan point-scoring even cabinet ministers admit that their programme is about playing politics not improving people’s lives.”
“The conservatives are different: we recognise what Britain needs is a radical plan for change. A plan to reduce the deficit, to get millions of people back into work, to introduce radical school reform, to improve the NHS, and to clean up Parliament.
This Queen’s Speech shows that the Conservatives are the only party capable of delivering that plan, a plan, that in time, will help make life better for the people of Basildon & Thurrock.”
