THURROCK libraries played host to the Kids Lit Quiz.
The Kids’ Lit Quiz is annual literature competition for children aged 10 to 13. It puts readers onto the stage and lets them compete for fantastic prizes.
It is aimed at school years 7 and 8 and the event attracted schools from across the region including, Kent, Havering, and of course Thurrock.
Held at Corringham Village Hall, the event was organised by Thurrock Council’s libraries team and the afternoon session proved to be nail-biting stuff with only two points dividing the first, second and third teams.
The eventual winners were Bancroft school from Redbridge, with Grays Convent from Thurrock coming in at a respectable sixth place.
The British finals of the competition will take place on 27th November in Oxford.
