Hayley McLean, 15, has been asked by English Schools’ Athletic Association to represent England in the Pentathlon at the School’s Combined Events Indoor International in Glasgow this weekend. Hayley is currently England’s U15’s no.1 in Pentathlon and no.2 in the 75 m hurdles.
In the summer, Hayley won Pentathlon in the English Schools Combined Events held in Bedford with the highest combined score for the five events which puts her in the top four chosen to represent their country.
Mrs Burst, Teacher of Girl’s PE at Hassenbrook said;
‘Hayley has achieved a lot in her relatively short athletics career and this is another exciting development for Hassenbrook student Hayley who has high hopes for the 2012 Olympics. Her dedication to sport which includes playing at a high level in football only goes to show what can be achieved if you are motivated to reach your goal. We wish Hayley every success in her next challenge.’
