THE AWARDS season started today with the British Independent Film Awards and Thurrock took centre-stage as Katie Jarvis won the award for Most Promising Newcomer.
Her performance in Fish Tank was nothing less than stunning and has been lauded as the central reason the film has gone on to win awards in Cannes.
Katie was in good company as Sir Michael Caine and Daniel Day-Lewis also won awards.
Although there have been reports that Katie is now sharing an agent with Johnny Depp there is also speculation that Katie would prefer to concentrate on domestic life and retire from acting.
