Year in Review: April

NOW that was much quieter: nothing controversial at all apart from a match fixing inquiry after irregular betting patterns at the Grays Athletic v Forest Green Rovers match. Just in case you wondered, it is still in the hands of the Gaming Commission.

Classic football was on view at the winner takes all East Thurrock v Aveley match while Tilbury took home silverware.

It was a sad farewell to one of our favourites: champion fund raiser Rudy Weeber. We still miss him.

Gateways Got Talent was such as success and St Clere’s Little Shop of Horrors was outstanding.

It was always a pleasure to interview Mayor John Everett. John was a natural and entertaining orator.

Gareth Williams gave a fascinating and moving talk as part of a Stroke Awareness Day at the Beehive.
