THE NEWLY formed South Essex College of Further & Higher Education has started 2010 with a bang as one of its merger Colleges, South East Essex College has been rated as the highest achieving Essex college in the latest National Performance Tables.
It topped the College rankings in terms of average grade (or ‘average point score’) per exam entry, and was also the highest performing General College for average grade per student in Essex.
Principal and Chief Executive Jan Hodges said: “This is excellent news and an improvement from 2008 results. It shows that our tutors are experts at helping young people achieve their full potential – no matter what their background.
“As a large general College, that is fully inclusive to students of all abilities and ages, it is especially challenging – and so rewarding – for us to ensure our students achieve high levels of success.”
