A COMMEMORATIVE plaque to Alice Diehl (1844 – 1912) who was born at Aveley and became a renowned pianist and novelist in the late 19th century will be unveiled on Saturday 23 January at noon.
The Thurrock Heritage Plaque scheme is managed by Thurrock Council’s Heritage and Museum officer and this will be the seventh to be unveiled in the borough.
The idea of this plaque has been developed in partnership between Thurrock Museum and the Aveley Community forum and will be sited on the Aveley Christian Centre, Stifford Road, formerly the school opposite the house in Park Lane where Alice Diehl was born.
The Mayor, Cllr Maureen Pearce, and a great, great nephew of Alice Deihl will be unveiling the plaque.
All are welcome to attend.
