East Thurrock will be bitterly disappointed at losing their second game in four days at Rookery Hill. After staff had spent hours getting the pitch ready using modern 21st century techniques, it was East Thurrock that seemed to get bogged down in the first half.
But they sprang back into life in the second half with a fine penalty save and then going a goal up but a tenacious Wakering fought back to grab the three points.
The Rocks slip to fourth in the league and will want to arrest any slide by grabbing three points against Leyton at home on tuesday.
