A SERIES of events mark a busy month at the Thurrock Learning Shop in George Street, Grays.
But firstly, this week is the final week for entries for a photography competition/talk and exhibition on saturday 20th february (closing date for competition entries thursday 18th february).
Rules of Entry
Photographs must be taken in Thurrock, but entrants can be from any location. Some suggestions for photographs could be buildings, both old and new, places of interest and views of the area.
Judges will be looking for photographs which best represent the area in relation to the overall impression of the image taken.
Entries should be e-mailed to: thurrock@uel.ac.uk with the words “Photography Competition” in the subject or taken/sent to the Thurrock Learning Shop, 3-17 George Street, Grays, Essex RM17 6NS.
If taken/sent, ideally this should be stored on a CD or memory stick. If entering a printed photograph, please include the negative.
If e-mailing, please limit the size of images to 2MB, photos must be at least 5 megapixels in size.
Only one photograph may be entered per person.
Photographs can be in colour or black and white.
All entries must be sent with a completed entry form, those with an SAE will be returned.
By submitting an entry to this competition you are confirming that the photograph is your own original work and that you own the copyright.
Although entrants retain the copyright of their photograph, by submitting they consent to the photograph being displayed in the shop to promote the competition and sent out in press releases to news organisations who may also want to display/reproduce the photograph.
Entries will be displayed at the Thurrock Learning Shop on Saturday 20th February. The winning photograph will be framed and placed on permanent display.
Closing date/time for receipt of entry is 5.00 pm on Thursday 18th February. Winners will be notified on Friday 19th February.
Judges decision is final.
