Grays Ath: “Being Forced Into Administration”

GRAYS ATHLETIC management slammed the Football Conference by alleging that their “bad management” is forcing them into administration.

Through a statement on their website, the club have claimed that a fixture pile-up is ruining them.

Chief Executive Andy Swallow said: “We are being forced into administration by bad management of the conference league.

” We have no games in March..our next home game is April 3rd. There is a possibility of 13 games in April. This is through no fault of our own; it is just the way the league runs itself.

“It is hard getting funds..after saving the club in January, we had a very poor February especially our game against Salisbury when only 232 fans turned up to support us.”

The Conference were unavailable for a comment yesterday due to the expulsion of Chester City from the Blue Square Premier.

Grays, marooned at the bottom of the league, play Altrincham this afternoon, hoping to avoid their ninth defeat in a row.
