CURRENTLY many families are not claiming, or are not aware they can claim, up to 80% of their childcare costs, and costs associated with out-of-school and registered activities.
Families could be entitled to a maximum of £140 (one child) or £240 (two children) per week.
Thurrock Council’s Family Information team is aware that take-up of Working Tax Credit, and the childcare element, is low in Thurrock. They are therefore hosting an event to help raise awareness of Working Tax Credits.
The event is being held on Wednesday, 17 March, between 10.30am and 12.30pm (drop in sessions) at the Thameside Theatre, Thameside Complex, Orsett Road, Grays RM17 5DX.
The aim of the event is to encourage families to be proactive in accessing the money they may be entitled to, and by doing so, helping to contribute to their prosperity.
Parents, carers and any professionals who work with children are invited to come along for a free cuppa and cake and a chat with a representative from Thurrock Council’s Family Information Service.
For more information, and to confirm your attendance, please call the Family Information Service on 01375 652801.
