AFTER a long long run, the day is finally here.
All over the borough and all over the country, people are voting in what is going to be a fascinating contest.
The sun is out and so that and many other factors indicate that it may well be a very high turnout, anything between 65 and 70%.
YourThurrock will be up all night covering both counts.
The return/result for South Basildon and East Thurrock should be made at 1am while Thurrock is expected at 3am.
The local election results will then start from 3.30am.
We will put each result up individually and interview each winner.
