BEYOND all the hubbub a new Mayor was installed at Thurrock Council last night. Former Mayor, Maureen Pearce stood down. Mrs Pearce made an emotional valedictory speech reflecting on all her duties, making specific reference to her visits to Little Havens Hospice.
Former Tory leader, Anne Cheale took over the chains of office. Deputy Mayor Eddie Hardiman was re-installed as Mayor beating off a challenge from cllr Yash Gupta.
