Kimble Twins In At Aveley
ALAN KIMBLE has taken over as first team manager of Aveley and will be assisted than none other than his twin brother, Garry.
Alan, 43, enjoyed a lengthy playing career during which he represented Charlton, Exeter, Cambridge United, Wimbledon, Peterborough, Luton, Dagenham & Redbridge and Heybridge Swifts.
He made over 300 appearances for Cambridge and featured more than 200 times for Wimbledon, playing experience he put to good use during four years as assistant manager of Ebbsfleet United between March 2005 and the summer of 2009.
Aveley chairman Graham Gennings feels the club have made the correct move in appointing Kimble and his brother.
He told the Millers’ website: “We were looking for a hungry applicant, somebody that has a desire to improve our club and continue the foundations we have built over the past few seasons.
“We are realistic at Mill Field to know that if we are successful as a club, then our players, and ultimately our Manager will place themselves in the shop window.
“I beleive in selecting Alan for this role, we have made the right choice, and I wish him well as he starts off a new chapter in his footballing life.”
