FIREFIGHTERS were called to a fire which has affected a machine at a reuse and recycling yard.
On arrival crews found that the machine was completely alight. Initially crews were hampered by poor access to water, but using a water relay in which fire engines took it in turns to leave the site and re-fill their water tanks before returning – crews had the fire surrounded by 17:20hrs.
Crews were using two main jets and are continuing to damp down the machinery.
