FOR a variety of reasons, St Luke’s Hospice holds a special place in the heart of the people of Thurrock. It hasn’t happened overnight. Since the Hospice opened in 1990, the staff have worked hard to maintain and raise the profile of the hospice.
For many people, the Hospice is the first organisation people think of when they contemplate raising money for charity. In 2010, the Hospice need you more than ever. To their credit, the fundraising team are working harder than ever with a plethora of ideas to raise money for the charity.
The crowds at the recent fete were very impressive and again illustrated the commitment the people of Thurrock and Basildon feel.
Chief Executive, Eileen Marshall took time out to reflect on the last twenty years and the future for the Hospice.
