Come along to St Thomas of Canterbury School Fete on Saturday 10 July 2010.
With a huge range of attractions for all the family, the event at the school in Ward Avenue, Grays annually draws many hundreds of people of all ages.
PTA Social secretary Mary McLoughlin said: “The Fete is always one of the highlights of the year, when we have the opportunity to welcome hundreds of people from the local community. Above all, we aim to offer an inexpensive day out that’s great fun for all the family.
The day starts with a parade and the fete will be officially opened by ex West Ham Football Players Julian Dicks and Kenny Brown . The fete itself runs from noon until 4pm.
There are lots of attractions to suit all tastes at the Fete.
For children, bouncy castles and the swing boats are always popular. Youngsters can also get behind the wheel of Kids Go-Karts. The usual poplar stalls will be there including books & dvds, Face Painting and name the fish and a grand raffle with lots of exciting prizes.
There are a number of shows including a Dog Flyballing display, Irish Dancing, and Dancing from Raggamuffins Dance Company. The School Choir and Boy’s vocal Group will sing. There will also be a Rugby and Football display by Thurrock Rugby Club and First Kick Football ltd.
There is plenty on sale to eat and drink at the Fete: hamburgers, hot dogs a selection of African Food and Tapas, also ice cream available, The Beer Tent, operated by the school’s Parents’ Association, offers a welcome drink.
Those who enjoy a gentler pace of life can par take in afternoon cream tea, before sampling the wares of the cake stall.
