FOR many of us it is a distant memory, for parents it is a lot closer. As Year 6 bathe in the glory of being the top of the school, there is a dawning realisation that come September they are going to be at the bottom of the pile.
For many that can be a daunting prospect indeed. Quarry Hill Junior School are more than prepared and are taking every opportunity to make sure that the students are acclimatised and ready for their senior school.
As part of that process, the Year 6 students went to the Crucial Crew sessions at the South Essex College recently to take on board a series of messages about personal safety and anti-social behaviour.
YourThurrock spoke to the students afterwards and their teacher, Cheryl Gordon to assess the impact to the day and how it intertwines itself into the school curriculum.
