IT COULD be that in a years time, when the council is staring down the barrel of cuts to the tune of £14 million, cuts that could see the services slashed by 40% that people will reflect back and remember when people were quibbling about a library.
Council Leader John Kent has taken his Portfolio Holders on a steep learning curve. Their “hot-housing” has involved working very closely with the officers to try and make the cuts as “painless” as possible. The key concerns are front line services.
