Four of Open Doors students, amongst others, up and down the UK, auditioned for ‘Sell a Door Theatre Company’ to perform a month’s run of ‘The Railway Children’ at this year’s Edinburgh Fringe festival with a professional cast. The cast are currently in rehearsals in Thurrock.
For all of them this will be their first professional production!
Our four lucky student selected are –
16 years Chloe Huckle who has recently completed her GCSE’s at St Cleres and is off to Palmers College in September taking an A level Theatre Studies.
15yrs Charlotte Sams from Grays Convent School, 13yrs Connie-Mae Georgie Lynn-Jones from William Edwards School and finally 9-year-old Olivia Martin from Tudor Court.
The four girls will be working with a multi award winning Theatre Company who last year won several awards and produced the only musical at the fringe to receive 5 Stars from the most prestigious newspaper at the fringe ‘The Scotsman’
This production of ‘The Railway Children’ is currently one of the fastest productions at the fringe, recently been pick as 4th best show to see from its category of theatre.
Eight actors bring this classic tale of family values and community spirit to life at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. This tale is for all the family, brought to you and performed by a cast of all ages and backgrounds in this special partnership between Sell a Door and Open Doors. The production will be held at the best and one of the biggest theatre spaces at the fringe held by C Venues telling this all time favorite tale of childhood innocence invaded by adult sized problems.
