Belhus 2nd 105 all out
Thurrock 2nd 81 all out
This low-scoring derby encounter at Blackshots on Sunday saw Belhus emerge as victors by just 24 runs. In a match which generally lacked application from the batsmen of both sides, it was the bowlers who largely dominated; none more so than Thurrock’s Gelder with 4-10 from eight overs and Jack Martin-Hussey of Belhus who claimed 4-13 from eight overs. Significant batting contributions in the match were a rarity, though Jack Panteli, 36 and Ryan Wells, 17, featured in a 37-run opening partnership for Belhus, while Jack Day carried his bat for the home side with 36 but had to watch helplessly from the non-strikers end as his ten colleagues were all dismissed for single-figure scores.
