AVELEY came back from two goals down to earn a draw at Enfield Town, but manager Alan Kimble will be looking for a lot of improvement from his side in the coming weeks.
Sam Byfield put the hosts in front after 24 minutes with a well taken finish from the edge of the area.
A goalmouth scramble could have seen the Millers equalise within a minute but on the counter attack Enfield struck once more through Liam Hope.
But the best goal of the night came from Aveley just before the break when Billy Hunt took the ball down and fired his shot into the back of the net, with the keeper rooted to the spot.
Kimble started the half as he finished the first but it wasn’t until he made all his changes that the team drew level.
One of those subs, Billy Holland was on hand to poke home from close range with two minutes remaining.
It at least keeps the Millers good pre-season results going, but it certainly wasn’t matched by the performance.
