The Friends of Ockendon Recreation Park in South Ockendon are holding a free Sports Coaching and fun day on Thursday (August 12) between 10am and 4pm.
Qualified – and CRB checked – coaches will be on hand to teach cricket, football, tennis, bowls, rugby and mini-golf putting.
There will also be mini sports for the younger children.
Face painting and a children’s entertainer will also be there.
This event is free and residents are asked to bring a picnic and enjoy the day – weather permitting.
Cllr Wendy Curtis (Belhus ward) has been working with the South Ockendon Community Forum and Friends of Ockendon Recreation Park to put the event together.
The park boasts £100,000 worth of new play equipment, jointly funded by the Playbuilder scheme and Veolia Mardyke Trust.
