RESIDENTS and Voluntary and Community Groups in Thurrock are now able to access more than 30 FREE training events running between September and December 2010.
The Thurrock ACE Partnerships ‘On a Learning Curve’ training programme aims to support individuals and groups in becoming more active in their community.
There are many more topics available including some longer courses which aim to build confidence and improve computer skills ranging from computers for beginners, First steps to internet & email to designing with word.
Most of the sessions are held in Grays and vary between a couple of hours, all day or over several weeks.
The sessions in September/October include:
9th September: Understanding Parliament (includes a visit to parliament)
13th September: Word processing 2007 for beginners
14th September: First steps to internet and email
14th September: Mail merge with confidence
15th September: First steps to internet and email
16th September: First steps to internet and email
16th September :Computers for beginners
17th September: Designing with word
24th September: What do school governors do?
4th October: Understanding & Influencing Thurrock Council’s Budget
7th October: Level 2 Health & Safety
8th October: Speak up for yourself?
12nd October: What is volunteering?
15th October: How to deal with conflict in your Community
19th October: Introduction to Assertiveness
19th October: Understanding Diversity (Board game)
