Docker’s Boss Rues Missed Chances

DOCKER’S Boss Paul Vaughan believes his players took today’s game against bottom of the table Potters Bar for granted as they went down 2-1 at Chadfields.

The game had started brightly when Ben Boyce scored after 33 minutes. It could have been two when Jack West’s shot was kicked off the line. Things got worse for West when he was stretchered off with a broken leg.

The winner for Potters Bar came in the 86th minute giving the Herts team their first victory of the season.

Paul Vaughan said: “I think the lads may have thought that these were three points in the bag. But this is the league in which nothing can be taken for granted.

“We really missed Bobby Ports today. He is an essential part of our team.

“So we go on to Ware on tuesday for a real six-pointer already. We have signed Nathan Gordon and released Jamie Pooley as we search for the best way forward.”
